Carl Gailen Insco
Carl Gailen Insco, 67, passed away on March 1, 2023, peacefully at his home in Chandler,
Texas. He was born on March 26, 1955, in Rantoul, Illinois to Carl and Phyllis (Moore) Insco
Fahler.
Carl grew up in Peru, Illinois. He graduated from Lasalle-Peru Township High
School in LaSalle, Illinois in 1974. Carl then joined the Army and served for one year before his
medical discharge. He attended Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby, Illinois. Carl
began working for American Nickeloid in Peru, Illinois where he worked for many years. He
moved to Carson City, Nevada in 1997 and began a career in commercial security before retiring
in Dallas, Texas in 2018.
Carl enjoyed being a father and grandfather immensely and loved his family very much. He was
an avid sports fan and cheered on the Cincinnati Bengals & Cincinnati Reds with his son. He
enjoyed fishing and swimming when he could and was an avid reader.
Carl is survived by his son, Chris (Mary) Insco of Las Vegas, NV; his sisters, Lisa Fahler Shell
of Rockwall, TX, and Theresa Fahler (Curtis) Reed of McKinney, TX; his grandchildren Caleb
(Harlie) Gage, Kirsten Gage, Karissa Insco, and Christopher Insco Jr.; his great-
grandchildren Aidan and Braelynn Gage; as well as nephews, Weston, and Camden and a niece,
Maegan. Carl had many dear friends, and he cherished those relationships as well.
The family will be greeting friends and relatives with a private memorial and a private burial at a
later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s
Hospital.
